There's an advantage to the Chinese being able to read the Japanese characters...most of them anyway.
One of Japan's leading temporary staffing agencies, Tempstaff Co., has opened a data center in China. When all is said and done, 220 people will be working for Japan at the new place in Suzhou.
Tempstaff workers in Japan will scan documents - surveys, applications - and send them to China for input.
The 220 workers are expected to be able to input 200,000 - 300,000 items per day once they learn the ropes.
China's data entry workers can work for 60-70% less than their counterparts in Japan.
And THAT is why companies outsource.
